Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering has three cars, which are generally only allowed to be used by the department’s employees for carrying out university tasks.
The van has three seats and a trailer hitch.

Students are not allowed to borrow this car.
A parking permit is not required at ECE, but most other parking lots at AU require a parking permit.
You can create a parking permit if Aarhus University is your primary employer, and your workplace is in an AU building. You can also create parking permits for your guests.
It is also possible to park in Føtex' car park at Helsingforsgade. Bicycles are parked at bicycle parking behind the building 5125 (Edison) and 5789 (Shannon).

There is a bicycle cellar for bicycles. The entrance to the bicycle cellar is next to the main entrance.
Motorcycles can park in front on the main entrance, where bicycles also can be parked.
The parking is on level -2, and you drive down via Bestseller. You must park in the spaces marked with ASE/ENG, as these belong to AU.
The gate for parking facility is open on weekdays from 05.00 - 17.00. Outside these hours, everyone with a valid access card for Navitas can open the gate without using a passcode. An access card is not necessary to exit the parking facility.

Only work-related driving is permitted, i.e. the car must not be used for private purposes, and only people with official business may be transported.
You are responsible for refuelling and refilling washer fluid, both of which can be purchased using the fuel card in the car folder.
Receipts are placed in the car folder. Any other expenses must be paid with your own private credit card.
Anyone authorised to use an official car is responsible for complying with the provisions of the Road Traffic Act. Any speed or parking fines are covered by the driver of the car.
The Danish state is self-insured, and no comprehensive motor insurance or third-party liability insurance is taken out for official cars when used in Denmark.
If a traffic accident occurs while driving, the incident must be described and the name, address, insurance company and policy number of the counterparty must be noted.

If you book a car for a trip out of town, please note the number of vacant places and telephone number in the booking so that other interested parties can contact you for a vacant seat instead of booking another department car for the same trip.
In special cases, students may borrow an official car in connection with academic activities where public or other transport is not possible.
Students are encouraged to take out their own accident insurance in relation with lending of company cars.
Students must contact their supervisor who will make the reservation in Outlook and provide the key and driving record to the students.
Before then, the student must have filled out a driving permit, which must be sent to the Secretariat, ece@au.dk, no later than 3 days before the company car is to be borrowed.
