ECE is partner in the Central Denmark European Digital Innovation Hub (CD-EDIH)

“EDIH”, as we say in everyday speech, is an exciting new development that promises to usher in a new era of business growth and innovation. Targeting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), this hub aims to promote the adoption of advanced digital technologies that can drive innovation and business development.

The hub provides ECE and partnering institutes a steppingstone for increased collaboration with external knowledge institutions like Force Technology and The Alexandra Institute and companies –from the mid-Jutland region and also wider afield. This will motivate us to bring the newest technologies to life in praxis and strengthen our research means.

One of the key features of the hub is its focus on offering companies easy access to a wide range of services. These services include relevant guidance, expertise, courses, workshops, innovation groups, and testing facilities, all aimed at promoting the uptake of digital technologies among businesses in the region. This is important in helping SMEs stay competitive in an increasingly digital world.

Topics and focus areas
The hub is investigating various topics related to advanced digital technologies, including big data, data analytics, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, digital twins, mobile robots, IoT, and more. In addition, there is a particular focus on smart city technologies, the manufacturing industry, construction, agriculture/food, and climate/environment. This focus on a wide range of industries highlights the hub's commitment to helping companies across a diverse range of sectors to harness the power of digital technologies.

Another important aspect of the hub is its focus on the public sector. With a strong emphasis on capacity-building for the digital transformation of the public sector, this hub can drive significant positive change in how public services are delivered. By providing access to the latest digital technologies and expertise, the hub can help to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and deliver better services to citizens.
